Father Eugene Wolf- La Crosse

Father Eugene Wolf- La Crosse

When you get to a certain age, you have to take a minimum distribution from your IRA each year. Instead of taking it for myself, I give a qualified charitable distribution, which you don't have to pay taxes on it as long as the bank sends it directly to a recognized charitable organization and the person you have doing your taxes knows how to record it. I have been supporting Catholic Charities for years, and using a qualified charitable distribution allowed me to give more because of the lack of taxes – and it isn't hard to do.
